Average Assignment Grading
«= Completed homework successfully and to best of ability – FULL CREDIT!
Sick = Student was absent at time assignment was issued or collected, 5 schools days period to hand in work for full credit, until then NO CREDIT!
HD = Student utilized homework dollars. They are excused from credit.
School Grading Policy:
A = 100 – 93
B = 92 – 85
C = 84 – 77
D = 76 – 70
F = 69 & below
In accordance with Durham Public School Policy, absent students will have a maximum of five (5) days to make up missed work.
**Please note, assignments are issued as practice of the subject material and are expected to be completed by the due date to the fullest, capable ability of the student. Parents/guardians are encouraged to assist with, not do for. **
SEVENTH GRADE AFRICA, ASIA, AND AUSTRALIA
The focus for seventh grade is on the continued development of knowledge and skills acquired in the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade studies of North Carolina, the United States, and Europe and South America by considering, comparing, and connecting those studies to the study of Africa, Asia, and Australia. As students examine social, economic, and political institutions they analyze similarities and differences among societies. While concepts are drawn from history and the social sciences, the primary discipline is geography, especially cultural geography. This focus provides students with a framework for studying local, regional, national, and global issues that concern them, for understanding the interdependence of the world in which they live, and for making informed judgments as active citizens.

Online is the team webpage. The webpage offers an abundance of resources and information for parents and students of the Pathfinders Team Daily homework assignments and important events/due dates will be displayed. In addition, each teacher has their own link, the link will provide curriculum information and other pertinent info.
Internet Permission
If a completed Internet Permission form was completed last year, you do not have to complete another form – that form will be good for your child’s duration at Rogers-Herr. However, if you failed to turn a completed form in by the deadline or are new to Rogers-Herr please make sure that a completed form gets returned to Mrs. Stevens. We will be doing a large number of Internet based projects this year and being unable to access the Internet will hinder your child’s ability to access a wealth of resources and activities to expand their knowledge and enhance their potential.
Homework & Homework Dollars
Students are expected to copy the daily homework from the homework board upon entering the classroom. Any homework given previously will be turned into the homework bin at the start of class. I reward students for good behavior and academics with homework dollars. It’s their job the keep up with the homework dollars and save enough up to use them. I encourage students to use their pencil pouch as a homework dollar wallet. Once students have enough dollars saved for what they’d like to use them for, they simply complete the back and turn them in with their homework into the homework bin. I do recognize that many parents do not want their children using these to earn a free homework assignment – that is why there are additional items to purchase.
