On Mrs. Stevens’s Blog, Pathfinder students will be able to reflect and respond to written literature read in both Language Arts and Social Studies class as well as correspond with their classmates nicely about the various reading selections.  In addition, students will be able to answer questions posted on topics discussed and examined during class time.

 Mrs. Stevens’s Guidelines for Blogging:

  1. Blogging is similar to the writing process:  Brainstorm, Draft, Edit, Revise, &  Publish.

  2. All students should have completed the assigned reading selection or taken notes in class and participated in class discussion before responding to the blog question ~ as you will need to reference to them correctly and accurately to receive credit for your blog post.

  3.  Read ENTIRE blog question carefully before responding.

  4. Reflect on what you’ve read/learned and think about your answer to the blog question BEFORE you begin writing your response.

  5. While writing your response, be specific and very detailed.  Your audience will understand your reasoning behind your response if you elaborate upon your thoughts and give specific examples from reading selection or class notes or class discussion.  When referencing a discussion, it may be useful to state which Social Studies core class you’re in, since not all cores will hold the exact same discussions.

  6. Proof read and edit your comments beforesubmiting.

  7. If you preview other’s responses and would like to add to their response, please be able to add your own ideas or elaborate upon the original writer’s ideas.  Please do not rewrite someone else’s ideas as your own – that’s called Plagarism and you will receive a zero and face other consequences!

  8. When submitting your comment, use only your first name and your last initial.  (ex. Kelly S.) If there are two students with the same first name, same last initial, please use first name and last two letters of your last name. (ex. Kelly St.)

  9. Under [mail] please put your personal email down (it will not be displayed on the blog)  If you do not have one, let me know and I will help you set up a free account in either Google or Yahoo. It is important you put an email; if something needs to be corrected with your comment before I allow you to post it I will email it back to you. I would much rather you get the chance to make repairs, than start over from scratch.

  10. In the blank box below, you will type your blog comment.  You may type your response in MS Word and then copy/paste it to this box later if you prefer.  That way it will aid you in checking your grammar and spelling before you post it online for the world community to see.

*If you fail to follow these guidelines I won’t know who wrote the post or whom to give credit to.
